Counseling
Welcome to the HES counseling office!

Ms. Jones and Mrs. Huerta are the school counselors for  Hartwood's students. School counselors provides academic, career and personal/social development to students. This is done through classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling and/or individual counseling.

As the school psychologist, Mrs. Monson consults with staff and parents on social, emotional, behavioral and developmental needs of students as well as evaluates students in the child study process.

Mrs. Strawder is our school social worker and she travels to two other schools in Stafford County, Rockhill Elementary and Hampton Oaks Elementary to provide services. As the school social worker she leads small counseling groups on social skills, assists families in crises and is an integral part of the child study team.

We plan to provide all of our students and parents with any assistance needed to have a productive school year.

Our goals for this school year include:

  • Providing individual counseling for students
  • Coordinating peer mediation among students
  • Providing assistance to parents
  • Providing classroom guidance
